One of its remarkable features is the lush green pastures that come to life during the monsoon season, making it a haven for cattle from nearby Sikles and Tangting villages. Your Kori Trek adventure kicks off with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a journey that takes approximately 6 to 7 hours. The following day, embark on a 3-hour drive from Pokhara to Sikles, a picturesque Gurung village surrounded by lush greenery. Take some time to explore the charming Sikles village, where you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the indigenous culture and hospitality.
One of the highlights of the Kori Trek is the breathtaking panorama visible from Kori Danda. We offer this incredible trek at a competitive rate of USD 750.00 per person on a double occupancy basis, inclusive of standard trek amenities. For solo travelers, a single supplement of USD 50.00 is applicable. Accommodations in Kathmandu are not included in this price and can be arranged separately. After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel in Pokhara and begin the scenic drive toward Sikles, one of the largest and oldest traditional Gurung villages in the Annapurna region. The journey takes around 3 hours, passing through winding hillside roads, terraced farmlands, and forested ridges with occasional glimpses of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
Upon arrival in Sikles (1,980m), you will step into a beautifully preserved stone-built village known for its strong Gurung cultural identity. In the afternoon, explore narrow cobbled lanes, traditional slate-roof houses, and the small local museum that showcases Gurung history, costumes, and ancient lifestyle practices. The village also offers excellent viewpoints toward Lamjung Himal and the surrounding hills.
Overnight: Local lodge in Sikles
Today marks the beginning of your trekking journey. After breakfast, start your ascent from Sikles toward Tasha, a 6 to 7-hour trek through dense rhododendron, oak, and pine forests. The trail gradually climbs, offering a peaceful and less-crowded Himalayan experience.
Along the route, you will pass terraced farmland, seasonal herder shelters, and open grazing areas used by local communities. This region is rich in biodiversity, and you may encounter Himalayan langurs, barking deer, and bird species such as the colorful Himalayan monal and blood pheasant.
The trail becomes quieter as you ascend deeper into the forested hills, eventually reaching the tranquil campsite area of Tasha.
Overnight: Basic teahouse or tented camp in Tasha
After an early breakfast, continue your ascent toward Kori Danda, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the lower Annapurna region. The trek takes approximately 5 hours, steadily climbing through alpine forests, open ridges, and high yak-grazing meadows.
As you gain altitude, the landscape transforms dramatically into wide alpine pastures with sweeping views of surrounding peaks. Upon reaching Kori Danda (3,850m), you are rewarded with a breathtaking Himalayan panorama including Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, and occasionally Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) on clear days.
Kori is also culturally significant to the Gurung community, often visited during seasonal festivals and traditional gatherings.
Overnight: Tented camp or seasonal teahouse at Kori Danda
Wake up early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and Lamjung Himalayan ranges. After breakfast, begin your descent back to Tasha, retracing the same scenic route.
The return journey offers a different perspective of the forests, ridgelines, and meadows you crossed earlier. The downhill walk is easier but equally rewarding, allowing time to enjoy the silence and natural beauty of the region.
Overnight: Teahouse or campsite in Tasha
Today you descend back to Sikles village, walking through serene forest paths, terraced fields, and small rural settlements. The 5–6 hour trek provides a relaxed pace and time to reflect on the high alpine experience of Kori Danda.
Once back in Sikles, you can further explore the village, interact with locals, and experience authentic Gurung hospitality.
Overnight: Local lodge in Sikles
After breakfast, drive back to Pokhara, a journey of approximately 3 hours. The road descends through forested hills, river valleys, and scattered traditional villages, offering one last glimpse of rural Himalayan life.
Upon arrival in Pokhara, your trek concludes. You may spend the rest of the day relaxing by the lakeside.
