Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Barpak, a beautiful Gurung village perched high above the Budhi Gandaki Valley. Barpak is the birthplace of Captain Gaje Ghale VC, who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery during World War II. The village is renowned for its stone-roofed houses, warm Gurung hospitality, and magnificent views of Ganesh Himal, Buddha Himal, and Manaslu. Overnight at a local homestay.

Today’s trail crosses the scenic ridge of Basukang, which also serves as the junction for the remote Rupina La route to Manaslu. The walk offers superb mountain views and a chance to experience untouched Himalayan landscapes. Descend slightly before climbing to Laprak, one of Nepal’s largest Gurung villages, known for its traditional culture, wooden-roofed houses, and spectacular mountain scenery.

An early morning hike leads to the sacred viewpoint of Dharche Danda, the highest point of the trek.
